Many of the sculptures by Vladas Kančiauskas are thematically inspired by nature. Pieces of work made from stone, metal often accentuate lines, reflections of light, stone patterns.

In 1968–1974, the sculptor was a student at the National Art Institute, in 1989–1990, at the Study of Modern Art in New York, the US, in 1995, at the Study of Modern Art in Rome, Italy. Since 1975, his work has been featured in a lot of shows in Germany, Russia, the US, Japan, Lithuania.
