Upper Quadrant
About the artwork
The creation of the Upper Quadrant was inspired by the semaphore signal system, used for the railway in the last century. Bright colours probably reflect the rich colouring of California, the place where artist lives. The quadrant is the quarter or any of the four areas into which a plane is divided by two orthogonal coordinate axes.
